Leon Keer – the Netherlands

Work: 2018

Leon Keer (the Netherlands) is one of the world’s leading artists in anamorphic street art. He has executed commissions in Europe, the United States, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, New Zeeland, Australia and various Asian countries.

His work conveys a clear message. Topical issues are addressed, such as climate change and quality of life in this world. Leon Keer is constantly aware of the playfulness and beauty versus degradation around him, a contrast that he expresses and amplifies in his work, which he uses as a metaphor for life.

During his career, Leon Keer has often presented his art at live-action painting performances. His ability to perform as a street painter offers him the chance to share his joy of painting with the public. The anamorphic works of art are temporary, but the images are shared via social media all over the world. Leon Keer: “Every work of street art is unique and belongs to the street and its residents; the temporary aspect of this art form actually reinforces its existence”.
